Prewedding photo session at home on film

Home & love.

When Elson & Florence asked me to photograph their pre-wedding and wedding day, I asked them a lot of questions. What is your daily life like? What is meaningful to you? And they told me they love spending time at home and going for ramen together.

I was so happy to hear that, because I love photographing people in their most comfortable space. So I asked if I could come to their home.

I still remember the first step I took into their home. I felt love.

Elson was funny, bringing me on a home tour, telling me about the funny little corners, showing me where they kept their diving equipment, and proudly presenting the view from their home to me.
Seriously, I loved that hospitality, Elson.

As the session continued, so did our conversations. Everything felt chilled and easy. I enjoyed hearing their love story, and as the conversation flowed, I loved seeing how naturally their body language came together—the little things, like tickling each other’s palms, or the way they naturally look at each other.

There was one thing Florence shared that touched me the most. I asked her, “What made you think Elson is the one?”
One of the things she said was, “I like that Elson is kind, and how he will always lead in prayer over everything.”
I think that is probably why I immediately felt God’s love when I first stepped into their home. Somehow, I could feel how God loves them too.

Thank you, E & F. You made me feel incredibly blessed. Not only to be trusted to do what I love, but also to make good friends through what I do.

I love how this set is beautifully mixed between digital and Kodak Portra 400 & 800 analogue film.
